Fire Line is hands down my favorite book in the Griffith Brothers series, and honestly, I’m not sure anything else could top it. I adore an enemies-to-lovers trope, especially when one character has to earn it. Maybe it’s because in real life, I didn’t like my now-husband on sight, and he worked his way into my heart. That kind of story will always hold a special place for me, and Fire Line absolutely nailed it.
CJ and Lennon are the kind of main characters you can’t help but root for. CJ, who abhors change and a great MMC with a chip on his shoulder the size of Texas, and Lennon, the talented chef who knows exactly how to push his buttons, are absolute dynamite together. Their fiery banter and undeniable chemistry make every interaction crackle with tension. Lennon’s determination to carve her own path and CJ’s reluctant vulnerability as he slowly lets his guard down create a romance that feels deeply earned and endlessly satisfying.
Beyond the romance, the Griffith family themes of loyalty, connection, and healing shine through, as always. Gates also sprinkles in just enough humor and warmth to make the heavier moments land even harder. It’s a perfect balance that leaves you wanting to stay in this world forever.
And that’s the thing—I don’t think there are any more books in this series, but my gosh, I wish there were. Fire Line isn’t just a book I loved; it’s one I’ll carry with me. It’s a story about earning love, about fighting for what matters, and it’s everything I want in a romance.
Now all I need is for my husband to give me his jacket and learn to ride a horse, and my life would feel like the perfect Maggie Gates romance novel.
