Goddess of Light, by Karina Halle

Spoiler Warning: This review contains spoilers for Goddess of Light and the Underworld Gods series.

Karina Halle wraps up her Underworld Gods series with Goddess of Light, delivering a powerful conclusion that had me hooked from start to finish. I read it on the way to Melbourne at Christmas, knowing it would close out my 350 books for the year on Goodreads—what a perfect choice to end my 2024 reading goal!

This book continued to hold my attention, with Hanna’s growth and her complex relationship with Tuoni. Their bond is tested throughout, and the emotional depth between them makes every moment feel earned. The story managed to make me laugh a couple of times, balancing the intensity with lighter moments that felt just right.

The pacing was perfect, the twists were satisfying, and Halle tied up the series beautifully. The mix of high-stakes action, emotional depth, and the mythology of gods made for a conclusion that felt both inevitable and fulfilling.

Karina Halle is officially a one-click author for me. If you haven’t started the Underworld Gods series yet, now’s the time. Goddess of Light is the perfect way to close out an unforgettable journey.
