Epic by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy

Reading Epic by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy felt like catching up with old friends you haven’t seen in a while—comforting, fun, and full of all the feels. I’m back in a Super comfy world. It’s a short novella, but it delivers everything you could want if, like me, you can never get enough of Wesmie.

This story picks up after Us and gives us a peek into their lives now, with Wes chasing his NHL dreams and Jamie finding his footing in their world. It’s not all smooth sailing—there’s that classic Bowen and Kennedy angst as they work through new challenges—but the love between these two is just as solid as ever. If you’ve ever wondered what their happy-ever-after actually looks like, this is it.

What really hit me was how much heart they managed to pack into such a short story. There’s humor (Wes is still a cheeky little shit, and I adore him for it), there’s heat (it’s Jamie and Wes, come on), and there’s a little bit of vulnerability that reminds you why you fell for them in the first place.

Also, shoutout to Blake—he shows up because, of course, he does, and he’s just as lovable and chaotic as ever. Which brings me to this: if you haven’t read Good Boy yet, you’re going to want to. It’s technically a spin-off, but you might even want to pick it up before diving into Epic. Blake’s story adds so much context and charm, and honestly, it’s just as much fun.

And can we take a moment for the abs editions? I know by now we all know that I am a fan of these, but, hellooooooo, abs! Epic got the same unapologetically smutty cover treatment as the others, and honestly, I love it. It’s a perfect nod to the heat and fun these books deliver.

Epic is a little slice of joy that reminds us that even after the big love story ends, life goes on—and it can still be just as messy, steamy, and beautiful as ever. For anyone who loves Jamie and Wes, this one’s a must-read.
