Us by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy

If Him hooked me on gay hockey romance, Us sealed the deal. Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy delivered a follow-up that didn’t just live up to the first book—it gave me even more of what I loved. Jamie and Wes’s story is just as swoony, but now with added layers as they navigate the reality of life together. There were moments I wanted to scream at them to just talk already—communication, guys!—but I kept barracking for them every step of the way.

And then there’s Blake. Oh, Blake. He’s chaotic, hilarious, and somehow the glue this story didn’t know it needed. Every time he was on the page, I found myself grinning like an idiot. He brought so much heart to the story that I can’t wait to dive into his book—he’s a character you just know will deliver.

What makes Us so special, though, is how it balances all the angst and challenges with that signature Bowen and Kennedy heat. Sure, the smut smuts (and wow, does it ever), but this also feels real in a way that sticks with you. Like, you move in with someone—now what? The honeymoon phase fades, life gets messy, and figuring out how to make it work is where the magic happens. Jamie and Wes tackle that mess head-on, and it makes their story all the better.

And can we talk about the cover? The original version still brings me back. Sure, there’s a more discreet option now for public reading, but those smutty abs from the original are iconic for a reason. They told you everything you needed to know about this series: bold, sexy, and unapologetically fun. Plus, let’s be honest, they perfectly capture Jamie and Wes—two hot, lovable idiots you can’t help but cheer for.

If you loved Him, you’ll devour Us. It’s funny, emotional, and irresistibly steamy. Jamie and Wes’s journey may have tested them, but it left me falling even harder for their story.
